Thanks all, I was surprised I made it with my current record. What's the threshold? Something like 13 kills on an average silver pilot means you can be silver? In any event, I still feel like I fly with pilots who could shut me out if I made them mad, so plenty left to do.

Yeah, that's true with all of the skill classes. An average of 13 kills on the best in the class means you can be in it.
