Let's Play Team Anarchy & CTF! Round #12!

OK Descent 3 Pilots, Behemoth suggested we throw some Team Anarchy into the mix this time!

Date: Friday December 11th
Time: 10:00 pm EST
Place: Team Anarchy in Vander's Revenge: Hash Bash
&------CTF in Egg v1.1

Thanks Zero, and Tiger for choosing this week's levels!
We will start with Team Anarchy in Vander's Revenge, moving on to CTF in Egg v1.1 afterwards.

I think I should also mention that many of us like to meet on Mumble in the Descent Rangers channel, and whoever plays is more than welcome to join us!

We don't always use it strategically; sometimes it's just to taunt each other and have fun. But it makes it easier to keep track of what is going on.

These games can be found using the Descent trackers (such as ), but I will also provide IP addresses later on.

Please let me know if you plan to make it; I like having an idea of how many pilots are coming so I can lure more pilots in with the numbers.

This invite is also being posted on the DBB.net and the Descendent Studios forum.

That was great. My first time seeing a 12-person D3 server completely full - I had to go watch Star Wars and come back when some slots opened up.
So as it turns out I'm not great at CTF (which I never played before)

... but hey I can do some things right occasionally! Even got myself a capture.

Very cool, Maestro! CTF is def one of my fav mods. The rush of a close capture is great!

Sounds like Egg v1.1 was a hit! I've never played there. How'd the Team Anarchy go, guys?

Apparently Zero was completely dominating Team Anarchy, so they quit before I was even done with dinner.

But I got to play free-for-all Anarchy against Mental Floss and a few others once we didn't have enough players for CTF, so I'm happy. eGG 1.1 was pretty cool. Lots of frantic shooting to stop flag carriers from escaping into the outer accelerator ring. The lower central bottleneck rooms were often flooded with napalm ... Much of it was my fault, of course. :twisted:

What version of Descent 3 do you guys run? v1.4 or the unofficial v1.5?

I'd like to get into one of these games next time.

Always 1.4. The general consensus is that 1.5 introduced more bugs than it fixed.
The last I heard of 1.5 was the status update from eight years ago on descent3.com saying development was in progress. But I'm guessing that's not the case anymore.

Thanks. Asking because I have the unofficial v1.5 installed for development reasons.

But I can always go back to v1.4 as I've done what I have to already with the latest patch.

Thanks for the report, guys. It doesn't surprise me that Zero was dominating in the Team Anarchy game, but wasn't Behemoth there to counter him?

I would like to fly in Egg v1.1 sometime, it sounds fun!

I regret to say that this concludes the pre-arranged Descent 3 team games for this year, as I will not be able to plan more right now.
I will however, if I'm at all able, jump onto mumble at 10 pm on Fridays to see who else is around. Maybe we can choose from the many servers that are up 24/7 on the tracker and get a game going! So, hopefully we may see you there, Deathwinger?

These Descent 3 friday night team games have been growing very nicely with excellent turn-out! I have had such a blast! Thank you so much, guys!

These events were wicked awesome; it was great to meet a bunch of D3 pilots finally. I'll definitely be back for more in 2016. Happy holidays and happy new year, all! 8-)
