Bug in Promo Challenge Level Rolling - Fixed
Cyrus uncovered a bug in the promo challenges: you shouldn't be able to randomly get a level that has already been played in the challenge, by you or by someone else! But you also shouldn't be able to rescind a claim, reclaim a spot, and roll a new level -- the system saves the level you already rolled, and that's what you get. The system intended to make the second happen was making the first . . . not happen. It has been fixed!
Since there is some confusion about what the rules are, here they are:
- When you roll a core level, you cannot get a level that anyone has played or rolled any version of previously in the challenge. If someone has played D2 Vamped, you won't roll D1 Vamped. If someone has played Logic x4, you won't roll Logic. This is to keep someone from getting super lucky or super unlucky with the rolls.
- When you roll a level, you are stuck with it. Rescinding the claim won't reset this, and when you reclaim a spot, it will still be there. You have what you rolled, and it's not what you want, you can try to agree with the person you're playing that you'd both rather play something else.
The bug Cyrus triggered to get Vamped twice was a little tricky, and with all the rolling and saving and claiming and unclaiming, I'm not positive there isn't another bug like it in there somewhere. I fixed that one . . . I hope there aren't others. If you do trip over one, let me know so I can reset the level it thinks it's remembering. You really should not get the same level twice unless you manage to talk people into it.

Yes!! It DID seem there was a shift in the force during my promo challenge when mindtrix was rolled yet again causing my resulting reversed loss to roncli. This must have been the same bug that resulted in creating an algorithm that said my resulting outcome should have been 20-14 in my favor thereby tearing a rift in the time space continuum resulting in the only thing the universe could do to reverse complete annihilation of itself. It had to reverse the 20-14 expected algorithm that was in my favor to 20-14 in roncli's favor. The algorithm could not be wrong however, and it fought back with mighty time jumps resulting in roncli being able to sidle up to me with his fusion of death as his lol's trailed off in a crackling of interference created by the jumps in time. The sheer fortitude exuded by my piloting skills to thwart both forces (universe and algorithm) and somehow gain 2 extra points to make the final score 20-16 has possibly tilted future history and thereby we can expect....oh nevermind. Thanks for fixing the bug D.
