look very closely at the hours and see if you can decipher it.
I'll give you a hint It's a whole of something and a half of that something (ignoring the decimal). Do you see it?

Well, at a very rough guess, let's figure 80% of his playing time is ladder matches, which might not be incredibly accurate, but it won't make a huge difference, and let's assume ladder matches take about half an hour. That gives us about 1250 hours played since the launch of DCL 2.75 years ago, or an average of 454 hours per year (~1.25 hours/day, which seems a bit low, but that's actual time-in-mines, plus days off). He was playing about 6 months before the launch of DCL in the modern era, bringing the estimate up to 1476 hours in the modern era.
Previous era, he was active online 1997 through . . . let's call it 2004 when UDL started dying. Assuming a similar pace, that should be about 3682 hours in the previous era, for a total of . . . let's call it 5,000 hours. Something within a factor of 2 of that is a pretty reasonable guess. Of course, the similar pace assumption is a bad one; my experience DCL era is that it's a low number of hours of super high intensity games; Kali era for me was manymanymany hours per day of moderate intensity games. If Jedi's experience was the same, that number could be as much as 15,000, maybe. On the other hand, Jeds has always been a ladder player, and I'd be surprised if he had more than about 1,000 matches on all the old ladders combined. So you could argue the number's high or low.
Still, 5,000-10,000 hours is a decent guess. Probably not a lot more or less than that.
Ever heard the theory that doing something for 10,000 hours makes you an expert?

3,921,967.84 seconds played for me. Give or take. Maybe about a half million of those seconds being DCL matches.
