Yeah DMDB ratings are about as valuable as YouTube comments. If there were more voters they might be of some help, or if they were given by a panel of respectable reviewers... but neither is the case. The site needs some work...

Don't worry about fixing a level when you are starting out. It's like fixing a stick-figure drawing. Your first levels are about gaining familiarity with your tools.
It's going to be tough to swallow, but really, 10% approval is about the most constructive feedback you can get. It's like this for everyone who is just getting into level editing. Until you are designing with clear purpose, and know the different fundamentals and unique features you can introduce to a space to influence play, feedback just isn't going to be useful.
