Trichord Orientation

What's your default orientation when you trichord from place to place? I'm usually in what I call a 'falling trichord': pitch up, thrust forward, left/right, slide down. Retreats -- or just trichording backward -- is sliding up. I usually find myself reorienting to those patterns for long traversals or getaways. Does this leave me at a disadvantage when acquiring targets, or is it more control-scheme-dependent? Control-skill-slash-execution-dependent? Topography-dependent? Does this matter at all?
Should this even be a question? Why so many questions!

We just need to hook up for a quick trichord test.

Only if theres someone in the same room bro, If he's on his own then having a certain way of travelling isn't so dangerous.
Also, i feel like trichording is more for travelling and less for in dogfighting, it has uses to be sure but each engagement is unique and thats what makes descent the best game ever.

i agree that you can become a dangerous dogfighter without trichording. i feel like it comes out as pocket dodging. Zero especially is a master at having a cup of coffee in the tiny space where the shots aren't. But as lee likes to say, there is a time and place to whip out all 3 axeii and put a man on his back.
