Thought I'd join this place, as being a Descent related website, that is always welcome for my doings
Gengi told me about this place and I though why not join it too?
So here I am, for some that may not know me, I am Obi-Wan Kenobi from Interplay forums, as being Hold of The World's Largest Descent/Freespace collection which you can see here:

I might make a topic of that collection because I have obtained some very rare things incl a Spacetech Spaceorb 360, which many of you here may find very interesting to see
As a Major Descent fan myself I really hope this game is still played and loved for what it was made for doing As a collector I am always in search for the rarest of things, still looking for Descent & Freespace related baseball caps, T-Shirts, Mugs, Player ship models and such, as for playing the game? I know how it works it has been over half a year that I really played it, but hey I can always host a game if yer up for it with that new Dual G34 related blade server I built, here there specs in short:
Dual 12-Core AMD OpteronMP 6180 SE D1 Mangy Cours, 24x 2.5Ghz
Supermicro H8DG6-F Dual AMD SR5690 / SP5100 Chipsets
4x 4096MB + 4x 8192MB PC3-12800 ECC Reg HP Server Ram with Samsung & Hynix BGA Chips
Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 290X PCI-E 4096MB 512Bit GDDR5 Rev.A12 3713
Auzentech X-Fi Bravura7.1 PCI-E
1x Corsair Force3 GT 240GB SSD
Plextor PX-B950SA BluRay ReWriter
SeaSonic PlatinumX 1000 Watt PSU
Lian Li TYR PC-X2000B + Lian Li W-X2000B Window Kit

Here the Device & Task managers and some CPU & GPU-Z pics:
This system is mainly used to host 20 to 32 player Primal Carnage 1.3 & Primal Carnage: Extinction 0.97 x64 EA Servers
But I am sure it can hand a D1 or D2 Server no sweats as well
The reason why I built this system is mainly I want something that will last for a long time and also mainly the interest It's also great for Video compiling and doing real time Flight Simulators and games that take use of the AMD MAntle API, Mantle is SMP limitless, this being all24 cores will be used, if you have more these too will be put to good use, it's just a very interesting system to work with in general.
