Open Broadcasting Software is able to record videos and it's free. I used it to record one of my videos.

Yeah, I use open broadcaster software (OBS.) Its free and gives you a lot more options than FRAPS. If you have the upload speed then I would just stream it. This means you don't have to worry about hard drive space at all or uploading it to YouTube. Stream it to twitch and then hit the export button. Twitch will use their servers to upload the video to YouTube. Now you have two locations with the video. You cannot view recordings on Twitch with a cellphone (with their app) which is why I export to YouTube.

I'm on the OBS train. Once you get the hang of it, it's some of the best free recording/streaming software out there.

I personally use Xsplit premium for all broadcasting purposes but, OBS is a great secondary choice that requires no money whatsoever. I don't use OBS because it hates my graphics chip, for whatever reason. Definitely more user friendly than Xsplit though. Good luck in your recordings.
