The old Sidewinder 3d Pro is out and the Logitech Extreme 3d Pro is in. It's different enough that it has me spinning in circles. Hoping to be ready to compete again when the new season kicks off in October.

Is the Sidewinder itself broken or the computer it was attached to?

The Sidewinder is drifting something fierce. It was manageable at first, but was terrible the last couple of times out. Also, since I don't have an adapter yet (on the list) I've been playing the game(s) on an ol'XP machine that is limping along. Seems like it's a good time to modernize all around.

I think it was Avatar who said he has a shelf full of those Sidewinders. Maybe he'd be willing to let people fix 'em or something.

You're still in the de-rusting/re-learning phase....now IS the right time to switch controllers as I did. I swtiched from joystick to mouse. I'm sure you could pull of switching from one joystick to a similar joystick and future proof yourself
