Would you tell me what you think of me, and my "Skills", my attitude(that has now been corrupted), and my reason for leaving?
and why you avoid me?

What I think of you:

* Someone who is extremely passionate about the game. People like you are good for the game.
* Someone who has apparently been holding a grudge for a very long time.
* Someone that has difficulty getting things like this out and explaining himself in a way that people can understand or relate to.

What I think of your skills:

* Someone who at the top of his game can compete with the very best the game can offer. You were in my eyes for a while the "best of the rest" after Jedi and Mark.
* Someone who doesn't play consistently enough to remain at top gold for long.
* Someone who has ungodly control of his fusion, both in terms of flinging it and AVOIDING it.

What I think of your attitude:

* Vastly improved since I was last active in D3. Back then I enjoyed making someone who often had a 70% efficiency over me rage because I got a frag kill or something. No hard feelings, of course. ^_^
* Short fused temper. A few recent threads have had people be patient and explain things to you, and you've turned on them, maybe because of who's saying it, maybe because you don't agree with what they say, I don't know.
* Normally plesent to deal with. Sometimes overbearing in asking for games, but that's more a DCL culture thing, and not really specific to you.

What I think of your reason for leaving:

* Overreacting, mostly, and partially not able to work out issues you have with other pilots. Coincidentally, some other pilots have this same issue on and off.
* Hoping it's not real.

Why I avoid playing you:

* I don't like losing badly. I don't feel I learn anything from it, and would rather play with people around my skill level and improve my skill that way. Honestly, Morfod is about as high as I would willingly go right now, an "honor" held by LotharBot when he was gold. TL;DR: It's not you, it's me.

You shouldn't let an eye in the sky affect you so negatively....you seemed fairly happy until this.

Your skills: at your height... I got filled with adrenaline when I played you. You were scary good, a genuine threat in certain circumstances. Your fusion and level 1s are still uniquely impressive. I also think that you were a top 5 pilot for sure. You've beaten me more often than I wanted you to. Not many people have accomplished that.

Despite whatever it is you are feeling about 'us' right now I want you to know that I am very proud of the way your attitude changed early on in this DCL era and told many a player that I was impressed with your sudden maturity and that I had hoped that I would be able to be more like you in that respect. I failed more often than I succeeded in that.

Avoiding you. - of the 70 pilots I have played in my DCL career you are basically tied for the 4th most matches vs me. Until Cyrus came along with his furious pace of playing that only I seemed to match...you were 3rd. I don't think that sounds like avoiding you much....but...admittedly....there were times when you were not on my most favorite person to play list. I thought you were cocky and arrogant and disrespectful at times...and frankly the ladder already had one of me and didn't need another.

Your reason for leaving. hmmm I think that only you could really explain that to us. I'm not going to tell you that you shouldn't leave if that's what you want to do. Lord knows that I've been trying to leave for a long time. I quit and come back ....very quickly usually. I have been overly passionate about this game and it has lead to behaviors that I am not proud of. I don't like myself very much when I play this game and there are certain pilots that I have played where that seems to be more evident. You were one of those pilots. I have retired this time around with no speech...I didn't do it after a loss on the DCL. I finally feel some peace with the idea of not trying to be the best and just moving on from this. In a way it's sad....but I feel happy about it....or maybe not 'happy'....but content.

so....if you need to leave....I won't stop you. I just also find it 'sad'.

What I think of you:

* Someone who loves Descent.
* Someone who has a lot to deal with in his personal / family life right now.
* Someone who has grown up tremendously in the ~4 years we've known each other.

What I think of your skills:

* Someone who has top-notch technical skills, particularly relating to fusion and pocket dodging.
* Someone who settles for face-to-face dogfights or wide-tunnel fights, even at a major disadvantage, rather than working with positioning and misdirection to create extra advantages.
* Someone who, as a result, can perform at the very top of the game but can also lose in surprising fashion (this season: 1 win against diamond, 1 loss against bronze.)

What I think of your attitude:

* Consistently improved from a few years ago, to the point where I point to you as a positive example instead of a negative example now
* Willing to face tough challenges, to play people in their best levels, to give people props when they do well against you, and to help people get better
* Seem to be having a really rough week
* Seem to have some unresolved issues based on misconceptions or misunderstandings that we need to take the time to work through

What I think of your reason for leaving:

* Get well soon. Take care of yourself.

Why I avoid playing you:

* ... I've played you 5 times this season, out of less than 30 total matches. That's second most out of anybody. You're fourth on my all-time list. I've been having a hard time getting chances to play, but I hope to take some shots at the LAN, and maybe my activity will pick up again when school starts up before Mildred is born.

I think you're a big silly goose I can only speak for myself but I like you baha (not hitting on you), you have a great way of making Descent very competitive yet, extremely fun to play. Not long after our first game it became apparent that we shared a number of common views and interests (honestly, I'm not). You've shown me that its possible for someone to compete with the very best, whilst just being happy to play the game. Needless to say, your fusion and lasers are excellent, I aspire to reach your level. I have learnt alot from you and appreciate the advice you have given along the way.

It would be a shame if you left the ladder for good. I understand you have your reasons but it would still be a loss. Anytime you wanna play, chat, pyro gymnastics or visit the almighty ostrich; you know where to find me and I hope you do so. More importantly, I hope your doing better now in terms of your health and make a full recovery soon.

Last thing; L1's aren't for everyone. Regardless of whether people like them or not, its cool either way. Whats important is that you like them; having everyone agree with us or not does not make your view any less valid, nor theirs. Also, you best not be ducking me cause I want that trophy

Cya bud, GL and come back soon (now). Most erratic pilot I've ever played in terms of floor/ceiling. you were an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a cozy cocoon of my spreadfire. (sometimes i wonder if you mess with settings too much?)

here's a tip: when you make jedi mad enough to call you a cheater, you should laugh and egg him on, maybe belittle him a bit. buying in or playing along or making it personal just plays into his hands. it is just so costly on both a personal/emotional and an interpersonal level, both of which carry right over into your DCL scores, IME.

Maybe now Lee will stop talking about you all the time in mumble. something about wanting to wear a vest made of your lustrous hair, can't remember exactly. super annoying.

I don't know if I'm on the "avoiding" list, but in case: it's kind of like Drakona except without as good a reason for it. I haven't been playing as much lately because, as always, I'm still trying to do too many things at the same time, and if I'm playing Descent, I'm not doing something else I should be... so I've rationed it out, avoided Mumble, even when I did show up didn't really want to play... all that kind of stuff.

I have recently considered retiring from the DCL because of that, but in the last couple months it seems the whole ladder has gone much the same way, so I guess I'll just hang around. Morf needs someone to complete his challenge against.
