LAN and retirement commentary
The CCDL 2 is over.
There were some good Descent games played. There were some ugly ones played too. There was mastery on display as well. ....but I'd have had just as much fun, if not more, had there been no Descent played at all.
Good food, good conversation, good friends....good times. I enjoyed the company.
I did notice that I did not get particularly angry at losing. I didn't expect myself to win....and all of that sounds like..."Jedi must have matured" Nah... I know better. I'm just at a place where I don't give a $hit as much about the game and being the best.
Mark and I used to flip flop as to who was likely the best....he'd improve....then I'd improve to counter his improvement...rinse and repeat.
I know what I would have to do to continue on that path and man I just sure the hell don't feel like it. So, I'm not.
Sorry Mark....it was a good rivalry and I know that I would not have gotten anywhere near as good as I got if it were not for you pushing me. You are the main reason I achieved what I did.
I'd have loved to have ended the CCDL with a win vs you...but I just flew like I didn't give a shit during that last game with you and it was kinda regrettable but also just kind of a reflection as to where I'm at mentally with Descent Ladder competition.
I was always intending to retire at the end of the CCDL. I only unretired to give ppl a crack at me on good connections....well and to give Mark at least one blemish on his perfect record. The CCDL is now over and pushing the retirement button was next on my list of things to do. So.... I'm not gonna push it. Not yet.
I'm here to have some fun with you guys and I don't want to be too serious about this stuff. I might not be cut out for this given my present frame of mind but who cares. I'll play a little until it isn't fun.
So ...enjoy the decline of Jedi but try not to be too vocal about it as that would just run me off more quickly.
see u in the mines
get some while u still can
