OK I've lurked on these forums for a couple years but haven't actually played the game for various reasons.

That may be about to change. But I had a couple of questions before I have any kind of comeback.

1) Is it correct that playing over wifi is discouraged? There is just too much packet loss/etc? If so I think getting a cat 6 wire won't be too much of an issue.

2) I guess I didn't have another question?

3) Anything else I should know?

I imagine it depends on the quality of the Wi-Fi, but it is probably the single biggest cause of poor-quality connections in Descent. You might still be able to play, but a wired connection, if feasible, is always safer.

Play Cyrus as much as possible.

Become one with your guns....not one with only one gun. However, if you want to find different pilots to help you with different guns... Cyrus for Vulcan is not a bad choice. Drakona for lasers. Bahamut for fusion. Mark392 for spread.
