Joining game failed to packet loss then joins anyways
with weird behaviour.
Second time seeing this message though it disappears pretty quickly. I've only ever seen it in the past week though so maybe it's new or something? This time I joined Neptune, received the error, and then joined successfully anyways. Except my ship was literally like 10x bouncier than it should've been. Very amusing and readyman confirmed the odd behaviour.

"D:\Descent Rebirth\Descent 1\d1x-retro-1.4.X5.exe"
Windows shows it was last edited February 11th 2016.

was it an open game? i've heard mention of people (3rd parties afaik) being able to hack the physics for other people in an open game.
P.S. So some cursory research on the tracker indicates it was an open game.

That seems to be the right version.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of a way you could alter physics for OTHER players in the game. I'd certainly be interested in learning how that is possible.

Little did we know, that our innocent curiosities created the path that lead to Descent's darkest days in history: the days wherein we realized that super-bouncy Descent is the better Descent.
It was pretty funny to bounce out of corners in a dogfight.
