Did you even read what i just typed? it feels like you just immediately replied as soon as you saw I posted a reply. This isnt about me bragging about me making a map, it's about me defending a joke that "jokingly" mocks the very existence of a map I made, honestly I really don't care what people think about my maps I use that as fuel to continue to make better ones but when my friends use it so much that it becomes tiriing to hear it makes it hard to keep my mouth shut. The very fact that Melvin said that this was a "troll" proves my point about this joke being taken too Far. Please reread the entire thread again

So, if Code builds a dog room that is 3 cubes high and 10 cubes square who should he give credit to? He likely wasn't the first person to do that specific dog room. Is he beholden to research this to try to give someone credit? If he used the most popular texture combinations in his level should he give credit to the first person that chose that combination of textures?

You want him to give credit to someone that should likely have given credit to someone else etc on down the line?

Someone builds a level that supports a particular popular play style (small, flat, has more than 2 missiles) ....now they need to give credit to the first person that built such a level???

The way I see it. Someone can CHOOSE to give credit to whomever they want. So what? If they want to brag about originality then we can point out where his clear inspiration was drawn.

Bottom line, he did not make copy the exact lay out and textures of Logic. He did not copy the exact lay out and textures of vamped...etc. I know this, I have played all of these levels hundreds of times just as you have. I recognize the parts that are similar but the levels ARE different. Period.

Now, if the 'original level builder' has a copyright and wants to exercise their right to enforce it. Go for it.

Until then, build what you want, give credit to whom you want. The only thing I care about personally at this point is whether the level is worth playing more than once?

also...why aren't you guys bashing Rethink for literally copying the exact layout of intel and only changed one texture then released it under his own name as author and offered no credit to 'original author' and/or DKH etc

You aren't doing it because it was funny to pick on code about it. I did it too.

But honestly, I don't care that Rethink did this. He made the level better in a way that players were asking for.

If you are going to go after code, go after everyone guilty of borrowing heavily.

And don't take this the wrong way, I'm not 'defending' code. I like picking on Code about as much as any of you. But this is getting ridiculous imo.
