Re: Diablo vs Ernie

As far as I can understand what is being complained about, it is a very small price to pay to rid ourselves of the promotion politics and resentment that clogged up the IDL. Towards that goal, it's important to keep the algorithm clean. That's the winning point (part 1) right there, boys. We can shut this puppy down and gooooooo home. (Can you imagine if someone, even coincidentally, got a gold promotion after beating a drunk gold pilot 20-5?) oh the chaos!!)
But, just to pump up my forum skill rating... Even if there was a rule, they would still have to take it to the top, no? Kinda makes all procedural/legislative discussion useless if our pilots are too chill to call the police on all these scofflaws, no? (I mean, the only pilot that I know of who did this a lot is ernie and he gave it up #nopitchforks #allpingsmatter) We're all pretty close, I feel like a couple pilots need to be told by some close, affected friends that they're being a bit choosy/drunk/pansy-esque. Alternatively, let's both name some names and quantify things a bit. Clarifying the scope of the problem might swing my point of view.
I gave up on the idea of a ladder being a perfectly just and accurate recording of pilot skill decades ago. As a dedicated stirrer of shit, it pains me to say this, but I think that the flexible model we have today works pretty well as I feel we have admins who are mostly ultra transparent in their motivations and decision making. We (except for me, ernie, jeds and birds) are engaged in apex laddering, people. It's not perfect, but you have to pitch in and narc if you want it to be.
