LOL . . . I don't know about by the end of tonight, but they ARE getting easier. Nysa was a beast, I don't think any of the other popular levels will be that hard.
Here's fuzed.

I thought about trying take2, but I couldn't figure out where to put the entry to the obs area. Every last wall in that map is tactically important!

fuzed is awesome.
i found 2 places in take2 that might work...but yes take2 is quite challenging on finding a suitable place to put the entrance

I think this spot will work:
You can still nail it with a smart missile, and give your position away, but that's true of anywhere on the level. I do think it's a wall that doesn't get used much. And plus, it's . . . a-door-able.
In all seriousness, I am having a lot of trouble finding a good spot. DKH seems to have achieved an economy of design in which every surface is relevant. That's wonderful and admirable, but it does make it hard to add an observatory.

Could we get a sticky listing all the observer levels? I bet people don't know they're here, but would love to try them out.
Can't wait to watch you two play in the Nysa one ;) although I have no desire to participate, unless it's another FFA. Nice job winning that one, Drak, by the way!!

Well, I try not to give this away, but I actually DKH-Hide-Camp-Follow very often from that spot... lol! I can stop though, adaptation is necessity to survival!

LOL, you too? I didn't know anybody did that! But it's all good, Jedi already showed me the error of my ways. It's now in the ceiling of the grate tunnel.
And done. http://www.enspiar.com/dmdb/viewMission.php?id=823
A note from playtesting -- there's a problem with the way Descent itself does missile spawns. In a small level like Take2 or Fuzed, there's a very small chance a missile will end up in the observatory area instead of the main level, and there's nothing a level builder can do about it. Well, nothing reasonable. Same bug that results in there sometimes being a homer in the mega tease at the end of a long nysa anarchy.
It's not really that bad. In a game to 20, we had 4 missile spawns up top, and the observer can call a time out to put them back in the level.
But I should have a minor retro mod revision that fixes that out later today.

I was going to suggest the observer putting them back in... but a patch would be even better! I really want to observe a Take2 match, that seems like a fantastic level for this feature- small and intricate.

Darn. I thought I had a working patch, but it . . . didn't work.
On top of that, we've discovered glitchy doors in Take2 obs and Nysa obs. And I've heard reports of one in Logic obs, though I've never seen it.
I don't know what's going on, and I will try to figure it out. In the mean time, I don't think these levels are stable enough for ladder matches . . .
