Why not?
Re: Why not?
I thought it was Jedi, too. I can see it, and I most certainly don’t care about it and often forget I can see it lol

the MOST frustrating thing about skill ratings is that you can NOT control them.....other than being as good as you can be in every single game you play.
But even still....it's those games that pilots play against each other (that aren't you) that affect you without your 'control' that can be maddening at times
but....
I'm not sure you guys are being all that fair to me on this. Sure, I look at them. Sure skill ratings matter in so far as who belongs where. IF I played for skill ratings I would NOT play x5 and megas as I am more likely to die more often than I would other wise in the process of that game thus negatively impacting my skill rating.
Take a look at my match history. I play those things IN SPITE of the skill ratings. IF I were playing for the skill ratings I'd do my absolute best to just stick to the levels I am best statistically in. I don't do that.
Hell, when I LOSE in a level vs an opponent I more often than not seek an immediate rematch under the same conditions. Likely not a wise move for someone that is 'playing the skill ratings'.

I've stopped looking at my rating after my games. It generally does a good job of placing me where I think I belong. Only thing I look at it for these days is pretty much the reason I'd want to as part of the council... to make sure it's not doing something it's supposed to. I've brought up a few concerns about it in the (somewhat distant) past, and they've been addressed accordingly. These days there's not a whole lot of surprise in the ratings, which I think is good for the algorithm.
