Re: The Observatory Season 6 Feedback
It's hard to tell what suggestions are serious and what suggestions are not in this thread. So, let's reiterate the serious ones below here, and hold off on the silly ones for now. Here's 3 potential suggestions for next season.
Only one pilot plays x levels consistently on The Observatory. Honestly I like watching a good x level (because I also like playing them from time to time), but seeing people choose The Blender (aka Wrath x5) is only interesting so many times, to the point where I start to skip them. Perhaps a compromise is to limit secondaries to x2?
Many pilots have done a great job introducing new levels to the community through The Observatory. I'm hesitant to change the way home levels are chosen because of that. We could require a minimum of 3 of the five primaries (Q4's, Vulcan, Spread, Plasma, Fusion), but I can't think of any level that's been played recently that would have gone against that. Is there real interest in ensuring that no one tries to angle too hard? We decided against mega levels because of how megas turned out in Season 1 (they didn't), so we could wait and see how a fusion-only level or something like that plays out, or we could just disallow it up front.
One of the things I was thinking for next season's tournament finals is let the higher seed choose who is home first. Right now, they are home LAST, but some may not want that, why not give them the option to decide. Good idea?

As a lower seed, ive always enjoyed playing my home first. i think it makes for a better, more suspenseful viewing experience? I'd be fine with the broadcasters deciding.

So there isn't an Xs issue just an issue with the one pilot that chooses Xs and perhaps one announcer's desire to handicap that one pilot.

I don't think it's a handicap thing, rather a preference thing... you enjoy the heavy missile levels. You're not necessarily more dominant in them, especially against opponents closer in skill to you. I recall you doing a series in a level against deimos where you played the level x5 followed by mcap 2, and you did better in the mcap 2 level.
Perhaps it's a question for the viewers, are Jedi's heavy X levels interesting to watch? (That ultimately is the question I ask for The Observatory.)
I'm really not inclined to impose any missile restrictions this close to the Season 7 since we don't have significant feedback on it.

We'll keep the home vs away order as is based on the feedback so far.
Still soliciting feedback on level primary restrictions (must have 3 out of Q4, Vulcan, Spread, Plasma, Fusion), but probably won't change for season 7 at this point.
Which means the rules will remain the same between seasons 6 and 7.

I stand corrected, we'll be putting seeds 5 and 6 up for grabs in the Wildcard Anarchy for Season 7.
