Re: Rematch Award(s)
If you don't win the rematch, you don't get an award. Anything else is just gratuitous ladderbation.

eh -- I can see there being room for "avenge an embarrassing score" even if you don't win. Like, if you get smoked 20-3 and then you rematch and you get 17, that probably counts.
I'd say a rematch award should have a specified target value, by the participants. Click "rematch" and then type in the new target score, and the opponent has to agree like with an official challenge. It might only be 2 points better. Or it might be like 10 points better, like "I can't believe I gave up 15 to this lower-tier pilot who I should hold to 5. REMATCH!"

it is subjective. a win as the standard is simple, clean and easy, but it doesn't allow the winning pilot to initiate a rematch challenege. just don't be dicks about it people. no spamming easy rematch target scores to pimp your profile out.
maybe implement some limits like the if the loser intiates, they have to get 1.5x more kills, or +5 kills, whichever is more. and if the winner initiates, they have to allow .5x kills or -5 kills, whichever is more. with an option to toughen the target if you're feeling extra vengeful. It shouldn't be easy. It should be used to demonstrate that the previous score was an outlier.
<semi-serious>Also, there should be badges for having the courage to deny the jedi rematch. never give the rematch, people!</semi-serious>
maybe an award for winning a re-rematch
but now we're coming to a point where it it's so damned elaborate
but maybe it will encourage activity.
and thus concludes this evening's episode of melvin arguing with himself

I'm definitely with melvin on "no spamming easy rematch target scores".
