Overload
With the official release of Overload coming to PC at the end of May what will become of the DCL? Will we start including matches from Overload? I love D1 but there will definitely be some interest in the multiplayer side of that game and I'm sure a thriving community is already forming. Do we all merge into the overload community and drop D1 and the DCL or keep the ladder and like I said just add overload games? Is there an official announcement forthcoming about all this?

New separate ladder. An official separation rather than a messier unofficial one.

I need a good graphics card before i can even attempt to play the game
i know people have the same issue as me, even some people not even open to the option of buying a external card.
The DCL will be fine... We will indefinatley take a hit losing some key factor players but we will have the spill of players either unable to play overload, or just wanting to play D1
As for the likeley hood of a DCL for Overload... I don't think that would work, nor come even close to what the DCL has accomplished... Activity or competitive wise
I predict that People will play the game for like a year or less before coming back to D1 (Just my Opinion)

Briefly discussed this with Drakona last week. We are waiting to see what the community thinks about 1 v 1 once the multiplayer beta launches soon.
My initial thought is to copy the DCL basically but have it be for Overload only.
Drakona is thinking perhaps folding it in to the DCL the way it is like D3.

really depends on how Overload 1v1's are. Might turn out to be better than D1. Might turn out to suck for 1v1. Might be very similar. Who knows? We can't really guess ahead of time. (Notice how we don't have D:U matches on this ladder. I wish we could, but the game isn't ladder-quality.)

I think a separate ladder would be best for Overload - there's some great discussion going on in their forums, but one emphasis is the desire to attract as many new players as possible. Joining a competitive ladder to one focusing on a game from literally over 2 decades ago probably isn't the best way to do that = P
I'm sure there will be tons of folks crossing over, but ideally if Overload succeeds it's going to spawn quite a few new things. One thing I'm dying for again is team play... I never liked D3 as much as D1, but the team play was awesome. Here's hoping there's plenty of room for that (and killer 1on1s) in Overload... like you guys said, we'll just have to wait and see = ) (but not long to go now!)

Probably just best to wait and see. My guess is that it will be optimized for larger multiplayer games and so will the maps. Does anyone know if there is a level editor? I feel like community driven maps are the reason why 1 on 1 and the ladders really took off.
In any case, I'm excited! Hope to see some of you in there!

Yes, a level builder will be available with the ability to import d1 levels.
