Re: I challenge Jediluke...
Jediluke in Full Homers Athena is also demonically scary. I'll give you a pass on the Nysa thing on account of that!

Back on topic, and speaking of courage . . .
I was downright shocked when Jeds offered big, wide, dogfight-friendly, vulcan-friendly Fuzed for a title match with DKH. I was doubly shocked when that got turned down in favor of rolling the dice -- I was sure DKH would snap that right up!
Nysa's a lucky roll for sure, though.

You're right, Drakona, and I felt the same way. Somehow didn't make it's way to my typing fingers, though ;). I'd also like to publicly apologize to JediLuke in that I seem to be singling him out too often on these forums, and I don't even know why. Being #1 puts a target on your back, I guess?
But as Drakona aptly pointed out, the same criticism I expressed could have been pointed my way, and I should have discussed it in another venue rather than specifically hijacking a "challenge JediLuke" thread- such as making a general thread about ratting and dogfighting pilots playing in levels that favor one another's strengths.
So, my bad on the drama... see you in the mines :)

If I may add one more thought:
Be careful using statistics to try to prove a point about someone's piloting. Sometimes the numbers don't tell the whole story. For example, back on IDL, I remember being criticized for having a low strength of schedule compared to other top LT pilots -- the implication being that I was seeking out weak opponents. But a careful look at records showed that I'd played (and beaten) just as many tough LT pilots as anyone else over the same time period; the difference was that I also accepted a lot more match requests from lower pilots (playing maybe 2 or 3 times as many total matches as others), and as a result had a lower average opponent strength.
Likewise with Jediluke -- he's played 83 total matches. Sure, that includes 19 in NYSA variants (12 against Drakona, who has been specifically training in that circumstance) and 14 in Logic (including two losses). That leaves 50 matches that were not in either of those levels. Outside of the admin staff, only 4 other pilots have even played 50 matches! So I guess I'm not sure what he needs to do differently other than tell Drakona to stop challenging him in NYSA.

You do seem to have selected me as the target of your ire. I never would have thought that I'd find myself disliking my interactions with you.
You are also arguing your point about something that you didn't even bother to talk to me about... which would have likely rendered your attack unnecessary. I have almost NEVER asked for a specific level and have always asked my opponent what they want to play. If an opponent wants to angle me in a non core level then I recommend pushing the button which is filled with the most common core (non angle) 1 on 1 levels currently played by the members of this ladder. I also offered additional level options in person with DKH that you are unaware of because you clearly didn't talk to either DKH nor myself.
I beat Lotharbot 20-8 in his home...a home that he beat Mark392 in. Don't discount my playing Lothar in his home simply because he's a silver pilot. I've also played DKH in his home level before he changed his home (a level he even built) and I've lost to him in it as well. I don't appreciate you inferring that I'm a coward.
NYSA isn't my home and hasn't been in many years. Mega-Nysa is my home from even back in the IDL days. How many people have been brave enough to play me in MY home? That works both ways you know. There is only one person ASKING me for NYSA and that's Drakona. ANY other recent NYSA match would be because of the random level button being used.
I don't seek out dog fighting levels against dog fighters and I never will. There is a sub-category trophy for those that want to pursue that kind of game....a trophy I do not seek to win. If someone wants to beat me for the #1 spot then I suggest they bring their A game in the core levels because that is what this ladder is geared towards.
I'm not seeking to prove that I'm the best dog fighter, fusion canon player, blind level player, disorientation level player, rat player or D2 player (all of which are rewarded individually by trophies that can be occupied by players of any rank).
I'm trying to be the best player I can be in the core levels and I'm making a fair argument in that regard. I've worked really hard to get to the skill level that I am at.
Have you noticed that when others do something like take the #1 spot or beat a really strong player that I congratulate them for their accomplishment? How many congratulations do I receive from players for my accomplishments? When I take #1 or when I beat a really strong opponent or accomplish a really long streak is there a thread started to celebrate it? I'm human just like any of you. I want to be told I'm doing well or getting noticed for my efforts just like the next guy but I pretty much never hear it. Instead I get ignored or worse yet verbally berated.
Do you know how often I've asked players for matches only to be turned down?? There are only a few players willing to play me....and that's that I'm a non cheating non lagging opponent that isn't an angler and yet I can't hardly find matches.
There are 2 ways for you guys to take #1 away from me. Either in the mines in core levels or by continuing to treat me in the way that I've been treated. Ignored and unappreciated and attacked.
Remind me...why do I bother to play this game?

I've never tried to dictate anything. I've never tried to angle anything. I've fought for fairness as I understand it.
*I* don't 'define' the core levels...as in ...*I* do not choose what they are.
The core levels to me are the ones listed in the random option: Logic, Fuzed, Black Rose, Vamped NYDP, Neptune, Nysa, Athena LH, and Flea. These are levels selected based on popularity and trying to weed out angle only levels like ugh. aka: core
Do I *like* all of those levels...NO. Am I good at all of those levels...better at some than in others but I probably do not *suck* in any of them.
