Re: It's Leaking
Yeah, yeah, I'm slumpin'. The algorithm needs to catch up to my slump.

Personally I think the algorithm should hurry up and give Entropy and Wats the silver they deserve. KoLo is probably there, too, he just needs to play more pilots probably.

Close. To make silver right now, you should be shooting for average scores around 7 on Jediluke, 11 on Lotharbot, or OT games with Morfod or Roncli. To make gold, you should be looking for 12 on Jediluke, OT with Lotharbot, and to hold Morfod to 11.
As average scores, not one-time achievements. Entropy, Wats, and Kolo have all put up a couple games in the silver range recently, but more scores that are still bronze. When your good games start to look silver, that means you're close. Perform that way consistently, and you'll be there.
For how long? About a month. The tiers react slowly by design. They're looking at three months worth of matches for you, though they care about matches in the last month the most. It's designed that way so you don't drop just because you had a bad week. And so that when people get promoted, everyone says, "ABOUT TIME!" rather than, "Really?"
When I made gold, people had been saying, "Come on, already!" for months. Something I'm currently saying about Deimos. Dude's perfectly capable of beating gold pilots, and gonna trash some silver streaks on his way back up . . . but it always works out in the end.
In general . . . yeah, the tiers leak. I like to see the ladder sorted, too, and it usually is, but the upsets are fun, too! Being one of the lower-rated pilots in a tier is a stressful spot to be, because everyone's coming after you for wins, and you can't always stop them. But don't worry about it too much. Sometimes top bronze beats bottom silver . . . it happens . . . it would happen sometimes no matter where we drew the line.
But that is to say, if you're close, don't be in too much of a hurry. Being in a higher skill class brings glory, but also stress. When you get there -- you gotta defend it -- so you want to be ready!

From my perspective I think of myself more as in-between Bronze and Silver. I've improved quite a bit at this game but I still feel that the Silver pilots have fundamentals I lack, so I'm content to be Bronze. I was 0-9 in Bronze before I got my first win, then I was 2-16, and then I got a positive record. My 3-15 Silver score I'm hoping will tell a similar story (though I doubt it lol)
