Let's Play CTF! Round #2!
Time for another Descent 3 CTF game!
Date: Friday night, July 31st
Time: 10 pm EST and beyond
Place: Worlds Apart 2 and Glyphic Teams
We will start the night in Worlds Apart 2, moving onto Glyphic Teams afterwards.
These games can be found using the descent trackers, but I will also provide the IP addresses later on.
Please let me know if you plan to make it; I like having an idea of how many pilots are coming so I can lure more pilots in with the numbers.
This invite is also being posted on the DBB and the Descendant Studios forum.
Thanks goes to Foil for once again hosting the servers for us!

Hmm, I'm not usually home on Friday until about 10pm Central, I'll try to get things going early, though.

So far I've got 6 pilots that are going to try to make it. I know there are some other pilots around that would come if they knew it was going on, but I haven't seen them on lately.
Let's make this another big game, pilots! Can I count anyone else in?

Only a few hours left until the game.
It should be a 6 to 8 player game at least to start out with, but as one fellow pilot put it: "nothing attracts a crowd like a crowd". I'm hoping for at least as big a game as last time.
Wow, I need to hop into Worlds Apart 2 early and become re-aquainted, it's been too long!
Here are your co-ordinates..er..IP addresses:
Worlds Apart 2 - 73.34.23.92:2095
Glyphic Teams - 73.34.23.92:2098
Pilots, Prepare For Descent!!!

I'm getting to dinner later than expected, but I shouldn't be more than an hour late, hopefully less than that.

Thank you to all who flew with us last night! The most we had was 12 pilots this time around! The games are getting bigger! (Wouldn't a 16 - 20 player game be sweet??!!)
We played for around 3 hours this time!
I have mixed feelings about the night. Even though we maxed out the 12 player server at one point (which was cool), people weren't really enjoying themselves because the the game was kind of laggy/buggy (shots landing when they looked liked they missed and vice-versa, people disconnecting, and D3's other multiplayer bugs were really putting on a show), and the first level (Worlds Apart 2) was not popular with alot of the pilots. I don't really feel like it was a success for these reasons. I had a lot of fun, don't get me wrong, but I don't think everyone did, so I left the game feeling a lot of frustration dampening the usual high I have after playing Descent. (Almost made a trip to the salty thread)
Well there is always next time. It is heartening to know that we will need a bigger server! I just need to figure out why we had all those problems this time, and not so much last time. Foil hosted both events, maybe we had the same problems, people just didn't voice it as much? I really don't know. Any thoughts?
Anyways, I'm going to revive the CTF level discussion thread so we can start planning the next game. I want to play levels that everyone likes!
Please don't let last night discourage you from joining future CTF games. Let's figure this out.
I'll see you guys in the mines!

Playing 2v3 was a bit rough. Your perspective on playing the game has to change, because the numbers game in CTF is so important, especially with the skill level of the pilots playing.
When we did have even teams, it was a helluva blast. Yeah, there were some odd things happening in that game, but I write that off to D3 netcode. That was definitely NOT a failed night, except for the fact I couldn't make the WA match. Looking forward to the next CTF night. Or maybe an Entropy night? :O
