Re: Diablo vs Ernie
As far as I can understand what is being complained about, it is a very small price to pay to rid ourselves of the promotion politics and resentment that clogged up the IDL. Towards that goal, it's important to keep the algorithm clean. That's the winning point (part 1) right there, boys. We can shut this puppy down and gooooooo home. (Can you imagine if someone, even coincidentally, got a gold promotion after beating a drunk gold pilot 20-5?) oh the chaos!!)
But, just to pump up my forum skill rating... Even if there was a rule, they would still have to take it to the top, no? Kinda makes all procedural/legislative discussion useless if our pilots are too chill to call the police on all these scofflaws, no? (I mean, the only pilot that I know of who did this a lot is ernie and he gave it up #nopitchforks #allpingsmatter) We're all pretty close, I feel like a couple pilots need to be told by some close, affected friends that they're being a bit choosy/drunk/pansy-esque. Alternatively, let's both name some names and quantify things a bit. Clarifying the scope of the problem might swing my point of view.
I gave up on the idea of a ladder being a perfectly just and accurate recording of pilot skill decades ago. As a dedicated stirrer of shit, it pains me to say this, but I think that the flexible model we have today works pretty well as I feel we have admins who are mostly ultra transparent in their motivations and decision making. We (except for me, ernie, jeds and birds) are engaged in apex laddering, people. It's not perfect, but you have to pitch in and narc if you want it to be.

yes please, I want to know why jediluke wasn't permanently punished for telling me to "fuck off and die"
some fucking admin
very helpful to retro to add 10x more missiles and "wait, where is my afterburner?"
I have been accused countless times,
I am the most skilled pocket dodger on this ladder, PERIOD.
I am the most SKILLED PILOT on this ladder, (leaving very soon due to life threatening health issues.) and you can't have the demos for being so condescending toward a 20 year old, who has more honor than to tell a fellow pilot to go and die.

"The admins are only going to hand out suspensions or similar if someone refuses to work out the problem"
It didn't happen on the occasions that I brought it up, because I'm avoided, as though I have leprosy

I did nothing to deserve being avoided, save constantly challenging and speaking out against those who don't follow rules, and deny me matches that I ask for
