DKH
(According To His Opponents)
This says to "Describe DKH as a DCL pilot" and I can think of nothing more fitting to say than "He's behind you."

--LotharBot
Although DKH hasn't played often in the last few years, we owe him a large debt for his role in getting the modern scene started. He hosted the first Descent LANs of the 2010s, after an absence of something like a decade; and around the time of the second one of those, was one of the founding members of the DCL. Always a great pilot too.

The way DKH's levels have driven this community, giving it new life in an era of exile; his contributions to the delight I have experienced in the last five years is enormous.

Watching him take on Mark392 on LAN showed me his trademark assassin playstyle that occasionally channel, and taught me that even the Descent gods can bleed, panic, and be tripped up.

I've never seen this guy.

DKH is a killer. I think he enjoys sneaking up on people more than he cares about winning. I can't believe, after all this time, he can still do it to me! It's a delight to see his particular style of elite piloting.

Less discussed - DKH has the toughest mind of any Descent competitor, I think. He cannot be rocked. He cannot be shaken. Regardless of the unreasonable, difficult circumstances, he digs into the game and gets the job done. Season 1, a number of pilots had X-1 records and DKH was the "one". And this has been his style the whole time. I'll never forget during the 2015 LAN in Denver, Mark392 came into it looking so intimidatingly undefeatable we were all wondering if there was anyone left playing who could beat him. And DKH, rusty and out of the game for a year, calmly sat down, dug in, and got the job done. Because that's DKH.

My friend, it has been a privilege to know you, in and out of the mines. You are an inspiration as a person and as a pilot. I always love to hear from you - you are one of the precious people and lifelong friends I have made here. See you around and for forever.

Great pilot, great person, great friend. The list goes on and on so I’ll stop there just to say; thank you brother! See you soon!

--Mark392
Despite being in some of the same circles (here in the DCL being among them), I know more *of* you than know you, and while we're pretty much different in terms of character and tastes when it comes to Descent, I can't help but note how a lot of levels played nowadays are yours. You really have significantly shaped the community in such a way that--when thinking about it--makes me wonder where Descent would've been without you. And even beyond the 10's (and, soon enough, the 20's), I'm sure your maps will be celebrated by all the skilled Descent pilots who had their tastes shaped in part by your mapping and gaming talents.
