Djcjr
(According To His Opponents)
I wish I could be as cool under pressure as Djcjr. This dude is just about impossible to rattle. Missiles exploding all around, fusion flying right at him, and he just casually slips out of it like nothing happened and then calmly removes all my shields.

Indomitable, except by MichaelNonagon, who is a legend in his own right :) Thanks for giving my son one of his greatest Descent memories!

I'm not sure many people know that Djcjr was also an outstanding D2 pilot. In the days before the DCL launched, he was the only one I couldn't beat in the Rangers 1v1 tournaments. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how he did what he did. :)

There was a time when you and I were #1 and #2 and we traded places multiple times. You were an amazing pilot and an incredible rival in the game. Some of my greatest matches ever happened with you! Thank you for being part of my story.

Djcjr, dogfighting legend and plasma god. Esteemed sparring partner to MD-1224 and Mark392. We've talked more than we played. Stop that.

Man, are you just going to let Birdseye steal your job like that? I enjoyed having you on The Observatory! I also enjoyed the Nonagon beatdown at the 20th anniversary LAN. ;)

Djcjr was a the top of the game when we launched the ladder. Chill, skilled, unshakeable, it would not be unfair to call the era just before launch his. Perhaps he shared it -- I wasn't really there -- but he was one of the very best. And it shows in his epic games season 1 DCL.

As the ladder began making people better, and the pressure rose, and the community began taking off, it wasn't Djcjr's cup of tea as a participant. I don't know his reasons. But I do know that many other pilots who have owned an era have found it very hard to watch others surpass them, and Djcjr handled it with more grace than I've ever seen. With epic games, graceful losses, and undiminished love for the game. He left us as a competitor, but he was never far away - moving from champion to fan without skipping a beat.

DJ, man. You love the same unapologetic power weapons dogfights I do, and I cherish our games together, even if our times as pilots have barely overlapped. You are a class act, and your love for the game is one of the purest I've ever seen. You're a treasure. I'd tell you not to fade away . . . but I feel there's really no need. You'll always be there.

Hey brother! That was one heck of a good time, wasn’t it?!
