Level Builders needed for...
So, the Admin had discussed that it would be nice to have some of the heaviest played levels turned in to 'observer/spy' levels for D1.
This would come in especially handy for ranger and dcl tournaments allowing others to watch.
The current Athena Spy is a great example of how to do it 'wrong'.
Does anyone have the ability/inclination to help us with this??

Checklist for a good observatory level:
- Observatory area should be as close as possible to "one big cube", and very tall -- allowing you to see the entire level at once
- Observatory area should be made up of reactor cubes
- Pathway into observatory area should be well out of the way, not a door you hit during the normal course of play that might give away your position
- There should be a path clear of powerups between every spawn point and the entry to the observatory

What's the software people are using these days for building levels? I tried my hand at it a bit back in the day, and it didn't seem too hard... adding something like this sounds like it might be within my abilities.
But well before that, I'd need to play around with the level builder again, so please point me to it if you can :)

This sounds like a job for the likes of Blarget, Naptha, Sirius, Jinx, or other builders who are good with solving these types of puzzles. Count me out, sorry

I made a few obs levels back in the day. I recall it involved some seriously creative cubing to do it well, especially since you have to rework the base level sometimes or you run out of walls. Wolf could probably do it easily, but I'm sure she has other projects.
I don't really remember how to use a the level editor anymore. I mean, I remember the principles, but the keyboard shortcut muscle memory . . . gone.

Ok, I couldn't resist. I made an observatory version of Logic.
We took some very cool demos in it while testing.

Apologies for some of the camera work . . . we're new at this.

LOL, yeah that was kind of a bad day for you. AND Jedi was kind of on a tear.
It's still interesting to watch how you fly, though.
