Re: West Checklestan LAN Wall of Excuses
FWIW the LAN in Louisiana will be kid-friendly. My 7-year-old and my 7-month-old will both be there. And lots of people are willing to do airport pickup...
Yeah, not everyone will be able to make it. But there are a lot of things you might assume will be barriers that really won't be.

Saltiest Ragequit:
*clang! DEATH* 18-11
"(Cyrus,) what the hell, you just TELEPORT THROUGH ME NOW? ON LAN?!"
*impish chortling*
*respawn*
"I swear to God, I'm going to f-"
*clang! DEATH* 19-11
At this point, I throw my mouse down in disgust, knocking over a bottle of beer, knocking over a cup of water which is launched all over the POWER STRIP. Quick work unplugs everything and the mess is cleaned up.
Cursing abound while I scrub the floor like friggen Cinderella. Apparently LS slept through the whole incident on the couch not 6 feet from me. Get everything cleaned up, power back on.
So you gonna join?
NO CYRUS. I AM NOT GOING TO JOIN. HERE, HAVE THIS PILE OF WET PAPER TOWELS AS A TROPHY, SOAKED WITH MY SALTY TEARS.

I wish I was at this LAN.
OK, no, I don't. But I hope you all make it to the LAN in July.

Cajun Country Descent LAN will probably have better food.
Y'all should come. Even Cyrus.

Most fun I've had in a long time!
My take on lan vs online:
Lan play is definitely different....it's weird to not lead, but overall I felt I got to see pilots at their best.
When playing online it seems like Melvin and Morfod can't touch me with the slow weapons....boy.... on lan I'm embarrassed to show the demos of Melvin's plasma and Morf's lasers, but I definitely seemed to do better against both of their spread. Whatever the case lan play certainly made me play different - I would rapidly touch keys while camping so my opponent wouldn't think I was camping.
Also, for whatever reason, opponents I played online, overall, I seemed to do even better than normal with the feeling that someone may be watching the game.
Also, it did feel awesome how well the Vulcan was, close range ,"100-0 real quick"- Drake?
Additionally,
Morfod, LS, & Melvin are all practically culinary institute graduates. What a bunch of foodie nerds!
SERIOUSLY AWESOME FOOD!
Who smokes meat for a day? MADNESS!
Also, got to meet hyper and his wife - can I say..... too nice? What great people!!
(Sorry I'm not photogenic )
AND.........AND.......in person it seems like people don't hate me so much.....lol
