THE SALTY THREAD
Re: THE SALTY THREAD
Luckily death streaks in anarchy games usually don't matter.

No you cannot. There is nothing that stops waiting a few seconds to spawn, spawning, moving forward one cube and eating a smart. Repeat this bad luck 10 times in a row and feel the salt.
Stop trying to sound like some kind of enlightened one and realize that spawns can be bad, and it's possible for multiple bad spawns in a row to happen, and therefore it's possible for a bad death streak to happen which leads to frustration and annoyance.
This is the salty thread; not the "here is my research paper on a phenomenon that occurs in a game and the correct way to deal with it."

I like analogies . For me I relate this closely to when im playing competitive table tennis. During the point if the ball if the ball hits the edge of the table or the net suddenly there is a VERY high chance you will lose the point. As Birds mentioned this type of event sometimes seems to cluster and it appears its only happening to you but not your opponent - even though over a long period of its usually not as bias as it seems in that very moment. I dont think over the course of everyone's life it'll always work out to be a perfect balance of 50:50. But letting it get to you and often ruining your chance for the rest of the game isnt a positive outcome either. It can also impact the enjoyment of your opponent.
Sometimes the ball hits the net and simply dribbles over without bouncing at all - unstopable event? Definitely - like the direct smart or overcharged fusion. Then there's ball hitting the edge of the table and deviating massively from its original course (taking 70 shields on re spawn), some players you will see instant dissatisfaction or annoyance or anger on their face. Some swing wildly (the acceleration button is stuck down and im going to charge you until i die), other sometimes just watch in disgust (hands off the controls). I think the players who accept it for what it is (bad luck), don't over-react and try to make their best of the situation.
