• Bahamut managed to beat both diamond pilots this season, taking the top spot in the process
• He is the Top Gold pilot having gone on a 8-game win streak (9-games really, seeing as he didn't lose the spot in a match) and has the best gold vs. gold record this season
• Bahamut put up a 17-game win streak: including eight silver, eight gold and one diamond match
• Also, he has been mounting a serious challenge to do the unthinkable in gaining promotion to diamond tier

Beating both diamond pilots as a gold pilot in a season is an accomplishment in and of itself.

Agree with all of it except the promotion to diamond portion as his gold dominance rating isn't even remotely close to a qualification for promo to diamond.

Nothing wrong with stating that he has the strongest case currently to make it but you are mistaken as to how 'serious the case is' to make Diamond.

I'm not downing the guy, I'm just pointing it out.

His Gold Dominance number is 71.9 and he needs to be at 90. Then, of course, he also needs to have a higher skill rating...currently he's the 3rd highest GOLD skill rated pilot.

I can't wait until someone gets a diamond challenge...so I'm pullin' for him.

Most these are all mentions of accomplishments that we have awards for.

He has been awarded dark-horse awards for beating the two diamond pilots.
He has earned the Top Gold Pilot award and reflecting 8 consecutive defenses.
He has earned the Gold Streak award for a 12 and 10 match streak, as well as a 30-match silver streak.
Mounting a challenge is noble, but generally accomplishment is recognized at the higher ranks, not ambition.

I would argue that earning a diamond dark-horse is rare. Earning two diamond dark-horses in a season is rarer.
Earning two diamond dark-horses off of both diamond pilots is an elevated achievement, and would be worthy of celebration.
