Season 6 Timing
I wanted to talk about this now since November's got some issues to deal with.
The first is with BlizzCon. It is the first weekend of November, and I'll not be home to do The Observatory. I am thinking of beginning Season 6 a week earlier, on Saturday, October 28th.
The second is with Thanksgiving. It is the last weekend of November, and I imagine many participants will be with family. I am thinking of ending Season 6 a week later, on Saturday, December 2nd.
Does this sound fair to everyone? Any concerns?

No complaints here. You're wise to schedule it for maximum participation/viewing.

Oh wait, Saturday December 2nd is out due to an event I'm attending.
Would you prefer Sunday December 3rd, or Saturday, December 9th?

Tough call. Dec 9 would be a whole three weeks after the last qualifier, while playing on a Sunday afternoon carries the risk that I may have to move schedule stuff around. I'll just register no preference, because I could most likely make either work if I had to.

I propose just exhibition or showcase matches due to the messiness of it all.

He used to do that before the tournament format. While overall I think the tournament format has been better for the community, an occasional departure might work out too.

I thought I proposed the same thing - non tournament for a couple weeks, maybe do some kind of showcase instead. Games for top bronze, silver, gold, and diamond? Or for trophies in some or all tiers? Or even 2v2 or anarchy?

Maybe we could do a handful of D2 games?
At this point I'm basically willing to volunteer to do the network work as long as I can get a rundown of the current state...
