if the concern is angling and match types that aren't fun to watch, the simple solution is to require at least one unmodified core level out of your set of 3 homes (not necessarily even a core level from this season.)

Easy fix for that is you can not choose the same homes you had during the previous season.

I also think it would be entertaining if the host decided the level between 2 pilots.
or the host selects a small group of levels and then the crowd votes which level will be played between a particular pairing.

Ok, the bot has decided it's Jedi vs Zero

The level selection for round one includes:

Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
Level 4
Level 5
Level 6

Ok, crowd....which level do you guys want to see jedi vs zero in?

Ok, we have 4 votes for Level 3 and 2 votes for level 6 and 1 vote for level 1 so LEVEL 3 it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Zero and I wouldn't get a say in that particular matchup but we would in everyone else's matchups as well.

So that will balance out.

I don't see much issue with it....and IF there is a tie for the level selection then the host is the tie breaker.

Would that just be for the "designated match" that roncli ends up broadcasting, or would viewers have to vote for matches they won't watch as well? Or is this just for the finals?

Really could go either way but I would imagine that for the sake of ease perhaps its just for the match being broadcast. If there are enough viewers maybe they get to vote on which matchup to watch AND the level.
