OBS Idea or great drinking game!
CYRANO-OBS
In a nutshell:
4 players. 2 LEADS: Jedi & Birds
2 PILOTS : Code & Lee
*player names used for example only*
The 2 leads each have a pilot. Chosen randomly. The 2 pilots have to listen and do whatever the lead says as they walk them through a match. Both teams go in separate mumble channels. The pilots will, of course, have to do whatever the lead says. They will be fighting to the best of their instincts but, within reason, are guided during an encounter as to where to position, which gun to have out, where to toss a smart, when to flee, etc. Game to 20.
I think this would do a lot of things for these 4 players and the viewing audience as well. People (roncli) could join the mumble team channels (muted) to listen to the commentary. Maybe you could broadcast each side's mumble channel throughout the match. IDK but somehow be able to hear the hilarity as well as the golden advice of a great pilot literally walking someone through playing like someone in a higher tier than the pilot actually playing. Calming them down, making them think strategically instead of only reacting. Think of the insight you would glean as you, the pilot, and audience for that matter, hear what decision Jeds or Mark would make in a particular situation. I came up with this idea listening to Birds comment about a player and I thought how it would be nice if the player could hear his advice during that match. Anyway, I liked the name better without the dash. hehe. (code, it's from cyrano de bergerac) google it.

so is the idea that Jedi/Birds are observing from Code/Lee's perspective and telling them how to play based on the information they can see, but no names-through-walls or level overview perspective?

I'd be down. I don't see why we couldn't try this on a special week of Observatory, say after this season. Put Jedi in one discord voice channel with his 'teammate' and me in another with my 'teammate' and Roncli can just switch perspectives during the match as needed. He could switch whose voice he is listening to say halfway through the game. I actually have had a similar thought before.
I know what Melvin means about not being able to relay info fast enough, but I still think you can provide some quick value. E.g. "He's low, so you need to switch to spread or vulcan right now" or "You've been doing well in these style confrontations, let's try to replicate that"
It probably wouldn't be a regular thing but could provide some welcome variety.
