Recommended Game Version
Re: Recommended Game Version
Reactor cubes make it so that weapons won't respawn in the cubes.
Also instead of doing that help me finish spectator mode. It sounds like this is what everyone wants, yet nobody is willing to help me debug it. What's the big deal?

Well, it's not exactly what I want -- I want a God's Eye View. I can get a pilot's eye view afterward through demos. An obs level gets me closer to my goal, faster. And there's the 'silly muse' factor; I'm going to work on what inspires me most and what I find most important at any given time, same as you. I do want to work on it with you, but it hasn't made it to the top of my priority list yet.
You don't have to wait for me, though. Nothing stops you from finishing it yourself. Same with CTFC. If you want something done, best way to make sure it happens is to do it yourself.

I want a God's eye view in demos. With the ability to switch between pilots at a whim, and easily change playback speed. But the only programming experience I have is programming 101 my senior year of high school.

Ooooh, I want that, too. I might want that more than live obs mode, to be honest. We could get some awesome youtube videos out of that.
And that's the problem right there. Too much awesome stuff to do, too little time. On top of it, there are so many SUPER AWESOME pilots active right now. I want to code . . . until I see one of them on mumble. And then I change my mind and want to PLAY.

Wow..Ryguy nailed it. Best of both worlds....and Drakona is right on how we could make some awesome youtube videos from that.
Drakona, can you have it all ready by 6:00pm tonight!? Great!

Updated D1 and D2 to 1.2.5. The changes are minor control changes:
- Sticky Rear View disabled by default (you can turn it back on under 'Controls')
- AutoSelect After Firing enabled by default (you can turn it off under 'Options/Misc Options')
- Joystick offers an undercalibrate setting on all axes. By default, it is off. You can adjust it under Controls/Sensitivity & Dead Zone.
This version of Retro is compatible with all other 1.2.x versions, so the upgrade is optional.

Bugfix release.
In 1.2.5, if you picked up a missile while completely out of all secondaries, it would be autoselected even if it was below your autoselect line. This was annoying with proxies! 1.2.6 is just a quick fix for this issue.
Nothing else changed. The upgrade is compatible with all other 1.2.x versions, and optional.

Retro 1.3 is done!
D1: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1462 ... ro-1.3.exe
D2: http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1462 ... ro-1.3.exe
This is an official release.
The community needs time to understand the new options and to just play on a stable game, so I promise not to touch it for a while. Unless some particularly painful bug crops up, for the next few months, all I have to say about changes to Retro is 'no hablo inglés'.
Changes from RC2:
- Spawn preview: The key you tapped to spawn didn't used to control your ship. Now it does.
- Spawn preview: Explosions that rocked your ship after death also rocked the camera
- D1 weapon multipliers could make too many copies sometimes
- Tracker registration message was wrong length (Credit -- Adam Gensler / Arch)
- Changes to message format in RC2 broke Icewolf's gamespy tool. It is now unbroken.
- Direct / P2P connections sometimes failed when they shouldn't have.
- Players joining a restricted full game automatically receive "game full" message without bothering host.
- Quiet Plasma option removed from Misc Options menu
- Net games could get stuck in "Between Levels" state forcing program restart
- Integrated with game installer.
Thank you, thank you, THANK you to everyone for testing, analysis, criticism, ideas, and just generally keeping me from doing the wrong thing too much. It wouldn't be a tenth as good without you.
