An overwhelming majority of players enjoy playing with you, Loni. Sure, there are adjustments that need to be made, but, that should NEVER be a deterrent from you getting to play and enjoying the game. Those that have chastised you because of higher latency, are people that have forgotten what it was like playing 15 years ago.

You've attended a LAN. You showed EVERYONE that you're an elite pilot. Now, get your ass on mumble and play some games!

PS: You can tell any future complainers they can always play D3 ("Oh look, that was a nice dodge... Nope, the server decided to kill me anyway. COOL!")

You're muh boy, Loni! No questions! Please don't restrict yourself from asking for games and matches with anyone! Let them say they can't handle it! You got the goods man, Taylor Swift said it (probably nowhere near best) "Shake it off, Shake it off, woooOOOohoooooo" or something to that effect.

Keep playing, we'll all bear with the lag. I used to play regularly against a guy across the Atlantic, and we still had lots of fun, lag or no lag.

Ask me for a game anytime, loni. Love watching your demos, anyone with a jot of experience can see you're uber talented within about 60 seconds. Descent at 300 ms is still fun.

Try living in New Zealand. A minimum of 250ms ping to anything not in New Zealand.
The only reason I appear passable on the rangers and for DCL is becaus for the first 10 minutes of a game no-one can find my hitbox. In some rangers games, I can fly straight through a room in which there is an active dogfight and not get hit. I do feel bad about that.
We should play some time so I can out-lag you.....

The worst thing for me is vulcan. The high [fire rate/packet count?/something] means that if there is a 2-way vulcan fight somewhere, i can watch my ping creep up from 250, past 350, pass by 600. On some extended vulcan fights I've had pings get up to 3000. The only option is to break and let things settle back to normal.

Living in a not-big-place isn't much fun, but at least descent lets you dodge things, rather than them missing by a mile and then he server claiming they hit you.

I never felt so important since I started playing this game in 1995 than today.

I appreciatte all the comments and I thank you all.

I havent decided yet about if im gonna ask anyone for a game, but im sure that I wont quit the ladder especially now that a there are so many gold pilots and so much activity.

Congratulations to Drakona and Lothar to make this happen.

Im always up for a game, a fun one, a ladder one, a ranger one or anything.

IF you dont want to play a 150-200 connection, just look for someone else and get out of my way. Im tired of mature ppl that looks like a Child.

Thanks to everybody that really enjoys playing me, or Who really enjoys playing DESCENT.

I have so many swear words that I want to spurt out in this post. 150 ping lagging? Forgive me for not being used to the 50-100ms pings that everyone gets... If I recall... 230 was acceptable at one point.

Deal with it and play the game that WE ALL GREW UP WITH.

We know the pains... yes... we may break everything around us and cause our significant other to be irritated by our reactions... but they also know about Descent and will understand we are just being ridiculous when playing a high pinged opponent.

A high ping is totally different that someone skipping around all over the place. If I can see you moving consistently.. I'll get frustrated that I have to make an adjustment, but that's all it is.

@Loni - Don't you dare quite yet. I haven't had to chance to beat you yet. Once I do.... quit all you want.

It's one thing to know how it should be, but it's another when you're in a game and having to deal with what comes up, I get that. Not everyone keeps it together (Mark392 has a talent for finding my buttons, actually, I just am lucky enough to be able to shut up about it most of the time).

I figure this is why the DCL doesn't force you to play against everyone, though. That lets people keep it fun without expecting everyone to be a saint.

It really takes me a good 100 point game to get a decent warmup.
Theres a slight difference between being prepared for a players style you know and warming up

Either way, It's always a delight to encounter challenges and overcome them.
