An interesting DCL video
Howdy guys. I put together a video of the most recent DCL I played against PPski. Instead of just putting up my perspective, I put both of our demo's one above the other, the idea being you could figure out when the other guy was chasing you and you never noticed.
So here it is, to demonstrate our bad flying in a tiny level. (You should try dukebox, it's great flying)
I won't be doing videos like this again. It took 6 hours for my computer to render....

This is really cool. How did you synch them up like that?

I always wanted to do something like this. I also want to know how you made it synced up.

So the compositing was done in ... Blender. Two planes were created, and the video was mapped to them. In the textures tab, you can specify the frame-offset, so I stepped through until the first death on one screen, and then adjusted the offset on the second screen until the frame the one player died was the same as the frame the message came up on the other persons screen.
Then I hit the render button and six hours later that video appeared!

Wow, that's a very involved process for such a seemingly simple task. I bet I could write something up in HTML5 that would let you record it in OBS in a much more efficient process. I'll look into doing that tonight.

Alright, I created that you can use in Chrome to play 2 videos side by side... just hit F11 for full screen, and record the window with something like OBS, or whatever you normally record your screen with. I'll post some sample output as soon as my edit is done crunching.

Very cool to watch both pilot views this way; this is something I've wanted to see for a while. Nice vid sdfgeoff, and thanks roncli for the html code. Super useful!
