Re: Mapping competition?
I would love that. If we ever get big enough with all the new 6DoF games, it would be cool to have our own Twitch streams for tournaments. Also, I would enter a mapping tournament just for bragging rights lol I guess that works lol so should there be an official announcement thread for such a competition? Or should I just post it at different forums? O.O

That edges towards "be very afraid" territory - we have some pretty competitive players already, can you imagine if money was on the line?

Probably would scare off all the competition before they even get to pick up a weapon lol so would you guys be willing to support a contest like this?

this is the announcement I've come up with.
"I'm proposing holding a quarter-annual mapping competition. Anyone can join and can submit up to 3 maps to the competition. Submission deadline will be July 1st. After that voting on favorite maps will be open. Voters can choose up to 3 maps to vote for. Top 5 maps will be subject to rotation ladder matches at the DCL for a week. A second poll will be held at the DCL forums by pilots who have played the maps in a competitive setting. After a week of playing and voting, the winner will be announced. Revel in fact that you're the top mapper of the competition."
does that cover it?

Oh ok then. I'll just say that the competition is a way to try to spruce up mapping activity and to attempt to dethrone current popular maps. That better? Anything else?

Will there be separate categories for disorientation maps and so-forth?
