Hopefully I'll be able to return and get back into the mines soon, I've been uberbusy at work, practicing management skills so maybe I can get promoted again to GM. Anyway; I'm looking forward to having games with you guys, I miss the dogfights/vulcanpicking.

Speaking of systems! Perhaps this will help someone else.

I did some experimenting for the LAN to determine the cheapest computer that could run D1 to competitive standards. What I came up with was . . .

Total cost, $200. Plays Descent well enough that Jediluke can win a tournament on it.

ok...true enough....but keep in mind with that setup i had to run at a little lower resolution than what I'm used to in order to maintain 200fps
