Looking for starter matches

All,

I have just joined the Champions Ladder and am looking for the requisite five matches to obtain a ranking before the Winter 2015 season ends. In particular, matches in the next week and a half would be best, as I'll be rather indisposed after that time (until mid-January, actually).

From what I understand and have learned through casual matches, I'm pretty bad at multiplayer (hey, gimme a break, I've been playing MP for less than a week after many years of single-player campaigns). Likely the best able to attest to my skill level (or lack thereof

) would be Wats, as we played an extended 1-on-1 casual match; I also got decent playing time with LadySilver, Cyrus, and (briefly) pfunk. So if any of the above could recommend good matches or give a good description of my relative skill level, that'd be much appreciated.

And lastly, I'd like to thank the DCL/Rangers community for being so welcoming and helpful for a newbie who wants a piece of the Descent action. You guys are the best.

Welcome!! PFunk is correct. Log in to the Descent Rangers mumble server and you'll find plenty of matches!

Well, that depends on how you define "holding my own" lol. I finished my first two Rangers games with K:D ratios of 0.43:1 and 0.39:1... so not disgracefully bad (I still got a sponsor and vouches from them

) but still not exactly fantastic.

Yeah, I look forward to seeing you guys on the mumble. If I'm not in a Rangers game (I need 3 more game points to make the Ranger rank), I'll be chillin' in the "Waiting for DCL Games" section. Except I won't be taking challenges from jediluke because I don't feel like suffering a shutout :lol:

You have to take the "experience" at some point! I'll tell you what I told Entropy: You'll be lucky to score 0 against Jedi. First game up, Entropy was NOT lucky.

My first game against Jedi was on Logic though

Having a KDR of 1/2 is actually pretty good. Even against other Bronzes. I'm sure you'll have no problem having fun Maestro. Just hop on mumble and get some games in. You can also ask people for an Anarchy game (aka Free-For-All), people are usually down for that. I haven't been around much lately but I think I'm starting to get the itch again so I'll probably see you around.
