The Observatory - Pilot episode - Fri 2/12 7 PM ET

I came up with an idea recently I call "The Observatory". Named after the modification to many levels that allow observing games, I plan "The Observatory" to be a multi-hour show on Twitch that features DCL matches from an observatory point of view, with me and another person calling the match live as it happens.

It is possible that 1.4X4 will be ready by the time this airs, in which case we would use that so that we can use any level available. If not, we still have a handful of observatory levels to use.

I have had a few ideas as to the format of the show and how to determine the matches to showcase, but what I want to do first is have a pilot episode that's basically just a bunch of matches as proof of concept for the format. Probably what I'll do is take pairs of pilots that want to play DCL matches live on the show and have some kind of waiting list available.

The pilot episode will air Friday 2/12 at 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific at . I'll be playing music from the entire Descent series (D1, D2 & Vertigo, D3 & Mercenary, and Underground), and I might have some pre-game video packages ready that showcases the core levels to viewers. I'm looking forward to having a fun night of DCL action. Come check it out!

I've updated http://roncli.com/gaming/the-observatory a bit with a link to download Retro 1.4X5. If anyone has trouble setting it up, please let me know. I know several people had problems with 1.4X4, including Morfod, Melvin, Mark392, and Dravis... I'm pretty sure I've got the issues cleared up for Morfod and Melvin, but am interested to see if Mark & Dravis can get it working.

I'm going to be around Mumble after work today to extensively test observer mode, as I have some last minute tweaks I'm making to the custom GUI I'm using, and want to make sure those all work good.
