Wifi is very bad! At the LAN recently, we saw a great demonstration of how bad. Blarget joined us on a laptop that did not have an ethernet port (???), so had to play on wifi. He was less than ten feet of clear air from the transmitter, and still brought enough loss with him that we all noticed. Don't do it!

Also, yeah, wifi is terribad. It's not just loss, it's inconsistency. It's the fact that some packets will have a much bigger delay than others, leading to gaps in between shots that shouldn't be there, shots that should have hit being delayed, shots occasionally disappearing entirely, and your ship jittering to the other pilot.

And while I traditionally take the first crack at new guys, I don't mind occasionally letting Morfraud have a shot.
