Re: all ships blue
Uhhhh... I can't tell if you're being serious, Birds lol! If you're talking about obs mode you'll always see the starter as blue and the other ship as red, even when blue ships for both pilots is enabled. (At least I always have) and Jedi has me host a lot, and I have the worse connection between the two, so I'm getting really confused here.

No, you can't tell in observer mode or on the tracker. For instance, this game was played with all ships blue:

Mark is right, all ships blue does not show to observers just the people in the game.

So, Drak....I appreciate you being my defensive attack dog on this and if I believe that Birdseye believed what he was typing instead of just kidding around then I would say that you put him in his place appropriately.
I think perhaps he's guilty of not expressing himself very well when he is 'kidding'.
I believe he assumed because of how OBS mode works that I was not playing with all blue ships. NOT that it mattered as it was NOT IN THE RULES yet.
As far as angling....well....I think we know better
I've played with missiles, without missiles and with extra missiles. Hell, I've played OCTAVE PRO....'nuff said.
If Birdseye wanted to genuinely question my Descent manhood....then I would tell him to do it in the mines. Forum battles don't mean anything. A nice series of NH levels and regular core levels with stock loadouts and some X4 versions as well.
but alas, I have spoken to Birdseye about this and it was determined that he was indeed simply being sarcastic and meant not to stir trouble. His word on that is good enough for me.

Sarcasm, joking, and so forth aside:
We admins are all competitive, and we know how competitive players think, and we have the experience of participation on past Descent ladders and other competitive communities. We designed this ladder from the ground up with the expectation that pilots would *try* to angle, and that we'd build systems to rein it in. That's why we have default game settings, the core level list, the random button, and the challenge system. So that any pilot can get the occasional shot at any other pilot, in a level that the community has determined is reasonable and fair (based on current community standards), with settings that we've all been playing with for years, such that when the game was over both the pilots involved and anyone looking on would be able to say "yeah, that pilot beat that other pilot fair and square" without excessive drama or after-the-fact complaining about "he would only play me in NYSA NH" or "he insisted on turning on the automap".
If you ever feel that your opponent is violating these rules, try to solve it yourselves, and if you can't, please bring it directly to the admins (not through a third party). If you feel that the entire system is inadequate, please make constructive suggestions -- what could we do to rein in whatever remaining angling you perceive, without simultaneously depriving pilots of the option to play in interesting circumstances?
