The final Season 1 Observatory episode is this Saturday, January 28, 4 PM Eastern,

7) melvin
And those that are in the wildcard anarchy match to decide the 8th seed are:
PFunk
Lee
The event starts at 4 PM ET, 1 PM PT, and 3 PM Cajun Country Standard Time
Here's the tentative schedule with approximate times (in Eastern), subject to change if someone becomes unavailable

If you have any time restrictions, please let me know as soon as possible, I'm can shuffle around the schedule a bit to accommodate if necessary.

Wildcard Anarchy
Since we will have at most 2 players, this will be a normal 1v1 game to 20, win by 2, with the home level chosen at random on air.
The winner will be celebrated as the grand champion of the anarchy, and will go on to the Knockout tournament.
...and then they'll get a smart to the face from Jediluke.

Knockout tournament
Prior to the tournament, all participating pilots will select a home level that will be their home level for the entirety of the tournament. Like the qualifiers, there are no restrictions on either the level or on any modifications to the ruleset. However, be reasonable... all matches will be broadcast, so represent the Descent community well.
The knockout tournament is an 8-pilot, single elimination tournament. Each match in the tournament consists of two games with the winner determined by combined score.
The first game is in the lower seed's home level, and the second game is in the higher seed's home level. Both games are to 20, with NO win by 2 rule. This means 20-19 is a valid result for a single game.
For the sake of time, when it is determined that one player cannot win their match without the other player losing points due to suicides or reactor deaths, the match will be declared won by the winning player.
In the event of a tie, a 3rd game will be played in the higher seed's home level, and will be a game to 5 win by 2.
Example
You just won the Wildcard anarchy tournament, and are the #8 seed in the tournament! Congrats! Now you have to play Jediluke. He's the #1 seed. He picks Mega Wrath x5, good luck. You pick Faster, because you heard good things about it, and know that Jediluke lost there once.
Game 1 occurs in your home level of Faster since you're the lower seed. Bad news, Jediluke learned the level, and repeatedly hits you in the face with a smart missile. The score is 20-2.
Game 2 occurs in Jediluke's home level of Mega Wrath x5 since he's the higher seed and a freak who likes megas. Jediluke now only needs to score 3 points to win the match. He gets you with two quick megas, but after the second one realizes he almost blasted himself with the last one. He suicides in spite, and then scores two more quick kills to mercifully finish the second game 3-0, giving him a total combined win of 23-2. Well then, better luck next time!
Another Example
Mark392 is the #3 seed, and Souljah is the #6 seed. Mark392, of course, picked Wyndham as his home level, and Souljah picked Vamped NYPD.
Game 1 occurs in Souljah's home level of Vamped NYPD since he's the lower seed. Mark does Mark things and scores a 20-17 win.
Game 2 occurs in Mark392's great home level of Wyndham since he's the higher seed. Mark now only needs to score 18 points to win the match, since that would give him 38 points and the most Souljah can get is 37. However, if Souljah wins and holds Mark to 16 or less, Souljah would win. Now, let's say Souljah pulls off the upset and wins 20-17, this would mean the match score is 37-37, and is a tie.
Game 3 is sudden death overtime, and is still in Wyndham since 1) it's a great level and 2) it's Mark392's home level for the tournament. However, this is a short game, it's only to 5, win by 2. The game itself is a barn burner, but Mark pulls out the overtime victory 8 to 6. Grats Mark392, and way to defend Wyndham!
