Trophy complete! For Drakona... & Lothar ;). But who is who?
Hey guys,
So, I finally completed the trophy. Below are the pics! I had originally printed these thinking they would be the trophy for the winner of a tournament, but since we haven't done that yet, and there may need to be a trophy for gold/silver/bronze, I wanted to put them to use :)
Obviously, JediLuke has also put a lot of work into this ladder, so I'd like to give a shout-out to him! However, my thinking was that he would win his own trophy in the tournament, and I really wanted to give this to Drakona due to all of the coding that she has done, both for the ladder and for the game itself. Retro homers certainly saved the game for me! Plus all the other changes she's done.
So the real question is, Lothar and Drakona... but who is who????
I'll be putting this in the mail to Colorado tomorrow!
On the tournaments note, if we do end up doing similar trophies for them, I think they would need to be printed at Shapeways as this was a bit of effort to do. However, I'd be happy to do the digital modelling for the trophies (the pyro is it's own model, but adding a nameplate to a stand, or the like) when the time comes, even if I can't do the actual printing like I did here.
Cheers,
Steve / RiTides

LOL! That's awesome, clone! Maybe we will have it sit on the desk of whoever won the most recent match.
And of course we can do shapeways for tourney trophies if need be -- that was the original plan.

Amazing, I want one.
I'd like to point out one flaw though:
but who is whom*

Nonsense, nobody talks that way except English teachers and forum grammarpickers. Usage trumps all.

Haha, glad it is popular! The crashed pyro is one that printed out great except one wing which didn't print at all, and I hadn't known what to do with it till I came up with this idea :). Putting it on the desk of the winner of the last match is a good idea :P
I actually debated a caption of "...But which is which?" but my wife said it was okay to personify the pyro :). Also note that the top one is detachable from the stand, so I'll ship it unattached so I can pack it more securely.

Hopefully this has arrived safe and sound by now! I'd love to see a pic of it where you guys have it set up (on the desk of the latest winner, or elsewhere :))
Edit- Argh, Drak just messaged me that apparently the postal service smashed it up! Hopefully at least the pyro that was on the stand (and thus was loose) is at least salvageable. Bummer!
Well, hopefully the thought counts for something, at least... ;)
