Alright, here are some things I have come to a decision on:
* The qualifier format will remain the same.
* The final touranment will remain mostly the same, except it will only have 6 pilots, with seeds #1 and #2 getting a bye to the semifinals. The wildcard anarchy game will now primarily be for the 6th spot.
* Multiple changes to the home level selection.
1) Cloak and invulnerability are explicitly banned.
2) Pilots will get to choose 3 home levels, and the away pilot will have to choose 1 of the 3.
3) Home levels can't be variants of the original level. IE: No Mega Nysa, or Athena No Homers, or Vamped NYPD, or "HEY I just learned how to open the level editor and I put 50 smarts in Logic, and now I want this x4'd!". Ports are okay, so Burning Indika or Azure Catacombs are fine. Levels that "borrow" elements from other levels are fine, otherwise we'd have to throw out half of DKH's stuff.
4) I will have the right to deny a level on a case by case basis, but will only use it in extreme circumstances. For the record, no level played in Season 1 would have triggered this rule. Maps that would trigger this include Heh, anything with heavy 4D that would be hard to follow as an observer (of note, Antbend would be fine, Halls of Iconia would not), and excessively large maps.
5) The home level selection is made in your first game and you must stick with it for the entire tournament. If I toss a level due to rule 3, the pilot will get to choose its replacement.
Things I am not fully decided on:
* Featuring levels - I *REALLY* want to do something like this, and am thinking that for each qualifier, a level is selected to be "featured" on the show, and is played by EVERY PILOT, regardless of home, in the final round of the tournament. I'd certainly trend towards newer levels, and levels that haven't been seen on The Observatory yet. Don't worry, I won't spring Zenith or anything difficult on players, these levels would be vetted a bit more properly than that.
* Changing the season scoring - I feel that weighting the scoring by strength of opponents is good, but it went too far in that direction, and am strongly considering giving 3 season points for a win, plus 1 season point for each of your defeated opponents wins. This will make the extra season points feel more like a bonus than it does your main source of scoring. It feels bad when you go 2-2 and only get 2 points because your 2 wins came in the first and fourth rounds, and your two losses came to Jediluke and Cyrus in the second and third, and on top of that Jediluke goes 4-0 and gets 12 points. This will make bad draws, like I strongly feel Sirius and Morfod got stuck with repeatedly in the qualifier, less bad.
Also, Season 2 will be Saturdays at the same time slot, 4 PM Eastern/1 PM Pacific, March 4th, 11th, 18th for the qualifiers and 25th for the finals tournament. I would like to experiment with the time slot a bit, but unfortunately I have a multi-week NecroDancer tournament that will be going on at the same time, and I need to keep Friday nights free for it.

Why limit level selection like that? if a pilot's home is something like Athena no homers, Vamped NYDP how will it work?

Concerning point 3, are you allowed to ban weapons using host settings (within reason ofcourse, no Laser 1 only logic or something) and is multiplying primaries/secondaries allowed? Just wanted to have it extra clear since those are technically submitted as some sort of "variants" on the DCL at least. (yes I know it's not a dcl event but still)
