Heh, yeah i disagree.
Neither mark or jed can claim top spot even though they're both good pilots, to say someone is the best all time is a big statement and the dcl has only been around a couple years at best, not to pour on a parade but that's not enough to judge something like that.
Honestly i'd have to say Birds at his prime beat all the oldies here at their prime and thats based off of recorded stats on the IDL,'not just because he's a good friend and a mentor figure.
i'd put warlord 2nd any day, can't decide who i'd put third but i have a good eye for these things.

Behemoth, I'll agree that it is a near impossible task to declare a 'best of all time'.

I would, however, like to point out that I believe you are mistaken about declaring 'my prime' to have been when I was on the IDL. Birdseye did not beat me at my prime. My prime occurred on the DCL. I am better now than I was when I was on the IDL.

....and I hope you realize the name of the thread....so everything said to/about yours bestest buddy mentor was meant in jest. No need to come defend his honor because his honor wasn't attacked. Birdseye earned his place in history. No one denies him that.

I don't consider myself best of all time. I can't speak on Mark's behalf. But....in my prime.....which occurred on the DCL ....I'd feel confident that no one past or present could have shut me out in an extended series of matches.

...and as for your assessment of Warlord being #2 all-time. Don't forget ....he lost to me several times on IDL and Case's including a loss to me at SuncoastII LAN. In fact, he was so threatened by me that he chose to ANGLE big time by declaring we would only play his map of choice and he would remove my best weapon. Kinda said. The 2nd best player of all time shouldn't have to angle like that I would think. In fact, Warlord is the inspiration for the CORE LEVELS with stock loadouts existing on the DCL so that no one can force their angling ways on someone just cuz they out rank you.

I didn't mention birds to stick up for him, and I agree that declaring a best ever isn't really doable since there's too many factors that we don't have control over in order to determine such a thing, however, I do disagree with the idea that you think you rewched your prime on the dcl considering you were a better pilot with joystick than on mouse, but if that's how you feel that's fine I guess it's not a bad thing to want to be good at one thing

behemoth, I don't understand your perspective. The flaw is in fact....your perspective.....in that it isn't from mine. What I mean is. Who would know more than me what I was capable of back then and what I'm capable of now? I have a FAR more advanced understanding of what I'm doing now by comparison. I would wax the floor with the old IDL era Jediluke. Period.

In fact, it's laughable if you watch the old Jediluke IDL demos.
