Re: Collision Detection
Agreed! So we need to download the new version for this fix, right? (But it's not in the recommended version sticky yet, does that mean it's not final?) Not sure how frequently the version gets updated but should be easy enough to get folks to update.
The missed power ups thing bothered me, so if this fixes that too it'll be fantastic!

It's pretty final. I just don't want to recommend it until I get some feedback from D2 experts on the gauss -- like with sniper packets and vulcan, just because what I did fixes the game, that doesn't mean it didn't break it, too.
And I have a little more time before real life hits after the holidays. I want to do one or two more things, so it doesn't make sense to try to make everyone update twice in two days.
At the same time, I want this version available quickly; I have heard pilots tell me they are avoiding D2 because of the gauss issue, and I don't want that to continue one day longer than it has to.
I do update Retro Mod pretty frequently -- I know it's a hassle to download another executable, but I think it's a bigger hassle to play with bugs, so I try to fix them quickly. I'm hopeful that around 1.6 or so I'll run out of things to fix.

Tested Gauss in a Rangers games with Jinx and Naphtha, and 1v1 with LoNi. It seemed just right.
Tested D1 intensively 1v1 with Jedi and for fun with LoNi and bahamut. Nothing seems to have broken.

Good work, team. Hopefully this gives consistent results and there aren't any other unexpected surprises lurking around the corner from this fix like getting stuck on powerups on the first test.

Yay, even better gauss; even more reason for people to hate D2.
