It was a neck in neck race up to 11. Sometimes I led, sometimes he did, back and forth adjustments and shifting tactics.

11-11. That's a good game.

I thought to myself, "I'm keeping pace with Jedi -- even sometimes getting a lead. That's great! I'm not going to change anything."

And then I thought to myself, "No, if I want to win, keeping pace isn't good enough. I should try to find an edge." But I didn't want to break what was working. I wanted to keep pace as long as I could.

And then I thought, "You know what's for darn sure, HE'S not going to be happy with how it's going. So expect changes to come."

And sure enough they did. I'm not quite sure what happened, but for a while I saw more missiles than Jedi, and very suddenly the score was 11-17. Six in a row! Some were luck kills or mistakes on my part, but some . . . really weren't.

Tough run! The final was lucky, given that. It felt more like 20-12.

"You changed something at 11 kills, didn't you?"
"Of course."
"And you're not going to tell me what it was . . . "
". . . nope."

Fair enough. But I think, in the future, I will try not to cede the initiative. :)
