"not smart enough to walk away from the game at the right moment ;)" "Smartest player I know."
War Journal Entry
When I was a little girl, I played poker a lot with my grandfather. He was good at it, and didn't believe in taking things easy on little girls.

Now, as a six year old, my theory of the game was pretty simple. I thought if grandpa raised, that meant he had a good hand and I should fold. Foolproof and devious, right? Only, I wasn't cool enough to just execute. I wanted confirmation. So grandpa would make a bet and I would immediately say, "Why did you do that??? Do you have good cards?"

"Oh, no," he'd reply. "The game is just more fun if you raise sometimes. I do it from time to time just for laughs."

"Oh, okay," I said. Every time.

And he had a good hand.

Every time.

So, anyway, Jedi and I are setting up this match, right? And he says, "Why not double the missiles?"

And I'm not sure I like that idea. "Does logic really need more missiles?"

"Oh, not really," he replies. "It's just fun to do it from time to time, because we can."

"Oh," I say. "Okay."
After reading this, I can't help but wonder if, from time to time, jeds occasionally takes his kids' allowances in a friendly card game :) - melvin
Ha! Unlike my grandfather, I'm sure Jedi was sincere. Nonetheless, down 1-4 and realizing the smarts were going to make the game MUCH harder for me, I experienced a powerful sense of deja vu. :) - Drakona
