Doing an impression of me, Cyrus? - Morf
Someone didn't have a problem accepting a thrown game. - ERNIE
Ernie - you're fundamentally right that this result shouldn't stand. It won't, you'll see. We are working the problem. :) But I don't appreciate your approach here. If there's a rules problem, it's helpful make sure the admins are aware of it. Sarcasm and sniping from retirement, on the other hand, just stir up drama and are unwelcome. - DCL Admin
To everyone - This game was a backdoor forfeit, and those are against the rules. Cyrus had a brutal start, but around 8-0 he very obviously stopped trying. We all go on tilt sometimes, and under the circumstances it's very understandable -- but you can't put something like that on the record. What we like to do when this happens is ask the pilots to continue the game from the last legitimate score. I'll ask, and we'll see where we go from there. - DCL Admin
Burn him at the stake I say. Who is with me? - moh
Or did Jedi just ground him? - moh
It's like a steaming pile of crap attracting the flies - Jediluke
Not helping. - DCL Admin
Lighten up for Christ sake. Jesus people - moh
Jedi is an admin and I am sure he was 'aware' of it. This wasn't sarcasm or to start drama its a pure fact. If people message me about a game that I don't even play anymore because of this and they say anything to anyone and just let it slide it will keep happening like it has for years [so I am told.] No more message from me. Have fun with your playground Jedi [there is your drama.] - ERNIE
One of the reasons we have 3 admins is so that even if one of them is wrong, the others can correct the issue. So if you see an issue not involving any admins, bring it up to any of us, but if you see an issue involving one, bring it up with the other two. (But please don't snipe or be passive-aggressive. We're not always going to notice things like match comments.) - LotharBot
Ernie, I love how you think that the guy who fought hard for the entire match and accepted the victory is the one at fault here instead of the guy who threw in the towel prematurely and tanked it. I wonder why that is? Oh, perhaps because you did the exact same thing. I accepted that game as well. The fault is not on the guy trying hard but the one who blatantly threw the game. This game was played very late last night. Early Sunday morning it was discussed amongst the admin and the demo was watched and we decided how we were going to handle this. That's a pretty quick turn around time especially considering Sunday was involved. - Jediluke
As for 'my playground' and your conspiracy theory friends... I'll say this...People are free to join this ladder and free to quit it. We don't force anyone to stay and play on this playground. We will continue to run this ladder the way we see fit and that seems to be working fairly well for the majority of players that we would like to see continue to have fun on our playground. Feel free to start your own playground and invite your friends to play with you. Unless you are going to be part of this community and play competitive Descent on the ladder then you might want to consider stirring the shit pot somewhere else because we aren't interested in what you are selling here. - Jediluke
Jediluke and Cyrus have agreed to play the match over from the beginning. This match has been marked practice, and they'll report that one fresh. - DCL Admin
The actual problem got concluded quickly and with a minimum amount of drama, which is how it is supposed to work. Jeds and Cy are pros. :) Ernie and Moh on the other hand -- you guys just caused unnecessary trouble. I know you think Jeds gets away with murder and you 'need' to say something, but that isn't true. This would have come out the same if you'd said nothing. He makes mistakes, or mistakes are made on him, we get together with everyone involved and discuss, and then he puts it right. Same as we expect of everyone on the ladder. - Drakona
Now look. As Lotharbot pointed out, if you're genuinely concerned about a rules problem, there are three admins you can talk to. And in fact, on top of that, you can talk to the council members, Mark392 and Roncli. If you can't find one of those people you trust to be fair, you're in some deeeep trouble. ;) That's the channel for dealing with rules problems you can't work out with someone directly, and it works really well -- so don't go acting like being aggressive in public is your only recourse. Far from it. That's an excuse for taking the opportunity to gloat over someone's mistake, which is completely unacceptable. - Drakona
In addition, you've been told in this thread that what you're doing isn't okay, and you've essentially told the admin they were wrong about that. That isn't how it works. The warning's a courtesy. I have better things to do with my day than argue with you over what isn't acceptable. Next time I'm just taking your posting privileges. - Drakona
